OUR STORY

Buggies Bags started unofficially and truly out of desperation.

Living in a 1999 Chevy Express van in Northern Montana with an old gary fisher hardtail mountain bike secured to the roof, I had the urge to use it for more than day rides. I began with some paniers gifted by a friend, items strapped on everywhere with voile straps and to top it all off a frame bag hand sewn and crafted out of the home depot lumber wrap fabric, straight of the dumpster out back. After quickly learning that sticky velcro is impossible to sew through by hand but embroidery thread holds up pretty well to wear and tear, a frame bag was created. This bag got me through many overnight trips and it wasnt until I purchased a gravel bike that I would sew another one.

This one had several upgrades; canvas material, no sticky velcro and my grandmothers old singer sewing machine to punch through it all.

I still continue to use that same canvas material, upcycled from a Cheryls Custom Canvas (creating boat covers for boat lovers) in Keuka, NY. The space I create in has changed to an apartment in Johnson, VT where countless rides and gear testing have occurred.

I hope that the Buggies Bags can support your bike rides, all shapes and sizes!
